Bon-Ton Goodwill Sale Supports Over 200,000 Hours of Services

For more than two decades, Dr. Erol Onel has served as a physician, an educator, and a pharmaceutical researcher. Holding an MD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he completed his residency in urology at the University of Connecticut Health Center and functions as the vice president of Heron Therapeutics, Inc. Dedicated to helping others, Dr. Erol Onel supports several charities, including Goodwill.

Committed to helping people achieve their potential, Goodwill recently held its semiannual Bon-Ton Goodwill Sale. The sale started on March 15, 2017, and lasted for 18 days. During this time, customers donated items at any Bon-Ton company, including Carson’s, Boston Store, and Herberger’s. In return, they received coupons for up to 30 percent off new spring fashions at Bon-Ton.
More than 262 Bon-Ton stores collected $564,000 and 1.4 million pounds of household items, clothing, and textiles. All of the items collected go to local Goodwill stores in Bon-Ton’s communities, where they will be sold to support the organization’s services.
Thanks to this year’s donations, Goodwill will be able to provide 250,000 hours of job training and other community-based services.
Another Bon-Ton Goodwill Sale will be held in the fall.
